c.1959 Linemar 10 Disney Toys in Original Display Box
Incredible set of 10 tin litho friction drive Disney toys in their original display box! Originally the box would've been available only to the retailer since each toy was sold separately. However, this is an unused "case" of all ten Disney toys. Each figure comes two per box. It contains Donald Duck, Figaro, Pluto, Thumper, and Flower. These five make up the complete set originally produced by Linemar. Each is marked with the manufacturers logo and Disney copyright. Think about it.... Knowing this, I think it would not be an exaggeration to say that finding the original retail box, of which only 1 was produced for each case of 10 figures, which still contains its original two complete sets .... there's a good chance of it being the only one still in existence. Or at least the only one I'll ever find! The beautifully illustrated color box shows all five Disney characters playing together. A castle or circus setting can be seen in the background. The individual price of $1.00 can still be seen written in light pencil in the upper right cover corner. The front and rear aprons include "head-shots" of Donald and Pluto. The designation as "Friction Disney Toys" was printed on all four aprons. The box cover and bottom are complete and all original. I inserted a divider into the box to prevent them from rubbing against one another. Size: 2-7/8" long. Box 7½" x 5¼" x 2". Sold: Dec. 2011
